TRUE STORY:  I remember it quite vividly. I was sitting at my desk staring at a pile of bills. I was worried to death because I hadn’t made a decent sale in almost three months. Something had to change…. quickly… or we would be on the street…

I tried everything that (I thought) I could think of at the time. I blogged on a website that had a meager following. I gave free advice to people in my ghost town of a social network. I even spent what little money I had left to run PPC and banner ads in the dumbest places. What a complete waste of time and money that was. Those ads were beyond worthless. I don’t even see what the heck I was thinking about at the time. I would have been better off had I bought business cards with no name and thrown them from a helicopter. It was frigging pathetic. I wasn’t thinking straight and IT SHOWED IN MY MARKETING.

I felt helpless and desperate. I started to lose confidence in myself and my ability to market.
